Spirit Z100 Treadmill Review

Our Spirit Z100 treadmill review looks at a feature-packed machine that would seem hard to fault at the price – so does it deliver?

The Z100 appears to tick all the boxes with a big motor, top-notch build quality and even an MP3 interface.

Cast your eyes over the spec and it’s apparent that Spirit has managed to exceed expectations as far as the packed under $2,000 market is concerned.

Spirit’s admirable philosophy is to build value for money, high quality treadmills that knock the spots off the competition.

The Z100 continues this tradition and delivers in spades.

So what makes it stand out from the crowd?

Spirit Z100 Treadmill Review – Features…

It folds up as well, which is handy for home users needing to reclaim floor space between workouts. The Z100 shares many of the same dimensions, frame and good looks as the excellent Z9.

The powerful 3.0 HP motor, suitable for casual exercisers and serious athletes alike is the same.

As is the 55″ x 20″ running surface, comfortable cushion flex deck and substantial 1″ thick belt.

The 12mph top speed and 15% power incline should add intensity to any workout and are also common to the Z9.

The areas where the Z100 differs though are more than cosmetic.

The large 2.75″ rollers are not visible, but work behind the scenes to smooth the ride and preserve the belt’s life.

There’s a six window, red LED display console that provides clear feedback whilst you exercise.

The 10 workout programs are also found on the Z9, but the 10 one touch program keys and 12 quick speed and elevation controls built into the handles are a bonus.

There’s also a pulse grip heart rate monitor and a telemetric belt for hands-free heart rate monitoring.

One feature, though that I really like is the MP3 interface and built in speakers. Sure, you can listen to your tunes via earphones, but the speakers are a nice alternative when you want to crank up the volume or be more sociable.

Finally, the warranties are excellent for this price range as you’d expect of Spirit, with a lifetime warranty on the frame, 30 years on the motor, five years on the parts and electronics and one year on the labour.

Spirit Z100 Treadmill Review – The Bottom Line…

Finding something to criticise becomes increasingly difficult as you work your way up the Spirit range and our Spirit Z100 treadmill review is no different.

There are simply very few manufacturers that give you so much for your money.

Compare a Spirit treadmill with say a ProForm and you’ll see what I mean.

If you want a well-built, quality treadmill with a powerful motor and class-leading warranties then our Spirit Z100 treadmill review would conclude that this model is going to be extremely hard to beat.
