Yes indeed! Bowflex claim that the Xtreme 2 SE home gym provides a whole body workout in a space and time saving design – and that’s exactly what it does.

We’ve been consistently impressed with Bowflex’s approach to the home gym market, and the Xtreme 2 SE embodies the best aspects of the company’s strategy.

The footprint and required workout area are tiny compared to that of many home gym’s, but despite the modest proportions you still get over 70 exercise options, including a lat tower, leg extension/leg curl station, preacher curl attachment, integrated squat station, chest/shoulder press, an abdominal crunch harness and more.

The machines configuration means that you sit upright for upper body workouts and by removing the seat you can squat, curl, do triceps press downs…pretty much whatever exercise takes your fancy, really.

The seat is fully adjustable and there are 4 positions for the squat station/lower pulley to allow maximum flexibility for different body shapes and heights.

We liked the no-change cable pulley system a lot as you don’t need to fiddle around changing cables between exercises..say when moving from squats to lat pull downs.

Resistance is provided by Bowflex’s PowerRod system – attach the cable and the rod bends through the range of motion. We found this to be very smooth and effective – comfortable on the joints as well.

If 210lbs of resistance isn’t enough, Bowflex offers upgrade packages at $99 for each extra 100lbs of rods.

We went into our Bowflex Xtreme 2 review with an open mind and left it seriously impressed.

The Xtreme 2 SE home gym is a tremendous and extremely versatile piece of kit, equally well suited to the serious home fitness enthusiast looking for a challenging whole body workout or to those on a weight loss or rehabilitation program.

It’s a cheaper option than either the Bowflex Revolution or Bowflex Ultimate 2 but compromises nothing in terms of build quality and versatility. If anything it’s a better option for most home users given its smaller footprint – it should fit pretty much anywhere.
